Eddie Van Halen: Rehab
Eddie Van Halen has entered rehab to deal with his drinking and alcoholism:
Eddie Van Halen said on Thursday he would enter rehab "to work on myself," a move that appears to rule out a reunion by his troubled band when it is inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next week.
The announcement came a month after he and former Van Halen singer David Lee Roth, his longtime antagonist, said they would tour North America in the summer. Within weeks, speculation arose the plans had run aground.
The Dutch-born Van Halen, 52, who has long battled alcoholism and survived a bout with tongue cancer, said in an open letter to fans he wanted to do right by them.
"I have always and will always feel a responsibility to give you my best. At the moment I do not feel that I can give you my best. That's why I have decided to enter a rehabilitation facility to work on myself, so that in the future I can deliver the 110 percent that I feel I owe you and want to give you."
He added: "Some of the issues surrounding the 2007 Van Halen tour are within my ability to change and some are not. As far as my rehab is concerned, it is within my ability to change and change for the better."
The letter was released by his spokeswoman and girlfriend, Janie Liszewski, who did not respond to requests for further information.
He actually gives a reason for his drinking, too. No social skills at all, so to feel less embarrassed he gets drunk.
Antonella Barba Sex Photos
So, we're still a little mystified as to whether those photos of Anonella Barba were indeed Antonella Barba:
Newly eliminated "American Idol" contestant Antonella Barba said on Friday the racy photographs that made her an Internet sensation were taken for personal use only and released without her consent.
Barba, 20, broke her silence about the latest sex scandal to hit U.S. TV's most popular show during a conference call with reporters the day after she and three other contestants were voted off the talent competition.
Ground rules set by producers of Fox television's smash hit prohibit participants from speaking directly to the media while they remain in the contest.
Without being specific, the former college student from New Jersey acknowledged for the first time that at least some of the photos that turned up online in recent weeks, showing her in various stages of undress, were authentic.
The photos included images of a young woman lying on her back covered in rose petals, posing in her underwear, sitting on a toilet and standing among a group of topless women at a beach, hands over their breasts. Others showed a woman performing oral sex on a man.
Online chat rooms and blogs were abuzz with "Idol" fans and Internet gawkers commenting on the photos after they appeared.
She doesn't actually say that the ones of sex were or were not her, just says that some of the photos were definitely her. Hhhm.

Tom and Ben
So Katie's husband Tom Cruise is to star with Ben Stiller in a movie, the Hardy Boys. The horror:
Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller are teaming up for "Hardy Men," a buddy action comedy based on the fictional teen sleuths known as the Hardy Boys.
The long-in-development project sees the Hardy Boys grown up but not speaking to each other, having been estranged for many years. They are forced to overcome sibling rivalry when they reunite to solve a mystery.
Shawn Levy is attached to direct the film for 20th Century Fox, which is hoping for a shoot in 2008. The project is out to writers. Stiller and Levy are stars on the Fox lot thanks to their collaboration on the holiday hit "Night at the Museum," which has earned more than $460 million at the worldwide box office to date.
The problem is that the Hardy Boys come from a 58 book series: if this movie is successful, just think how many damn sequels they'll make of it?

Russell Crowe and Robin Hood?
Yes, Russell Crowe is to play the Sheriff of Nottingham and guess what? He's the good guy.
As Master And Commander and A Good Year proved, there's nothing that Russell Crowe likes more than rolling out a useless British accent in his films, so he'd be the obvious first choice to play the Sheriff Of Nottingham in a new Robin Hood film.
Russell Crowe has reportedly signed up for Nottingham, which is vastly different from previous Robin Hood films because it focuses on The Sheriff Of Nottingham investigating murders carried out by the villainous Robin Hood and his band of men. It was thought that Russell Crowe was the first choice for Nottingham because of the movie's spectacular climax - where The Sheriff Of Nottingham gets smashed on the contents of his minibar, lurches downstairs and knocks Robin Hood unconscious with a telephone before pulling some embarrassing karate moves in front of everyone.
The Sheriff Of Nottingham is one of history's greatest villains, for the brutal way that he tried to stop a thief dressed in tights from shooting people with a bow and arrow just because they were richer than him. And when actors play The Sheriff Of Nottingham, they always play up the evil side, unless they're Keith Allen in the BBC1 version of Robin Hood, in which case they basically make him a medieval Frank Spencer.
I'm not sure how well this will work out: could be as funny as Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Renee Zellweger and Weight
Renee Zellweger has obviously got entirely bored with talking about her weight:
Ask actress Renee Zellweger about her weight and she yawns.
"Boring," she says, when asked to talk about her body.
Zellweger, a Texan renown for piling on the pounds to take the lead role in "Bridget Jones's Diary" and sequel "The Edge of Reason," is playing another British woman in "Miss Potter," based on the life of children's writer Beatrix Potter.
Oscar-winner Zellweger, 37, recently told Reuters why she likes to play Brits -- and what she thinks about the column inches the media devotes to her body:
Q: You surprised critics with your accent and performance playing London singleton Bridget Jones and now you are playing Beatrix Potter. Why are people so fascinated by how well you adopt an English accent?
A: "I don't understand it, it is just work. It is part of the process. You concentrate in a different way, I have learned, because I kept trying to do that in this last piece that I did where I play a contemporary character and I would catch myself listening to how I was forming words. Anyway, I work with Barbara Berkery (dialogue coach) and she teaches me what to do and she stands by me and she corrects me."

Katies and Tom
WEll as we all know, Katie and Toim did in fact get married and they've also got that baby.
I'll admit I'm rather surprised, I was always under the impression that Tom Cruise was infertile.
Also, isn't it slightly more traditional to get married first then have the child?

Heroes.
In our ever more connected world, the internet entrepreneur is the hero of this class. Not just using new methods of doing things, not just working out how to do something better but actually inventing entirely new things for people to do with the new technologies.
Free Katie.
The whole thing kicks off at freekatie.net and while many are amused there are some who really are not:
"...you are nothing but a bottom-feeder waste of everyone's time. What a joke this is. Is your job to try and break up every couple you can think of? You quite literally have created the worst web site I have ever seen; and trying to exploit young, vulneralbe teens to purchase ridiculous merchandise for this 'cause' is despicable. At least go after Britney and Kevin - their home videos make me sick."
I guess it all is down to you, will you save the young and lovely heroine or do you not care about the Free Katie campaign?
